UAG has a rugged magnetic power bank for your

For those of you who know me, or follow enough of these posts to gain that insight into who I am, you'll know that keeping my battery at a ready 80% (and no lower) is important.  So, having power options all around me is important.

In the past several years, the options for wired charging just don't excite me anymore.  A pain to have to find a cable (that fits) is a pain, so much easier to plop something on a charger and bing-bang-boom you'll top up your phone as needed.  Sure, it's slower, but your phone sits idle more often than used, so it's convenient to put it somewhere.

And then more recently, using magnets in Qi chargers (okay, thanks to Apple, give praise where due) to make it even more convenient has given rise to a ton of more chargers.  I've converted a bunch of my charging 'stations' now to have something that is wireless and magnetic to make it that much of an easier thing for me to just get that couple minutes of juice.

Today, I've had the opportunity to lug around with me the new UAG Rugged Magnetic Power Bank.

This cool accessory is no lightweight, in that it has not only 10,000mAh of juice to transfer over to your phone as needed, but it is 'rugged' (heavier duty built with rubber grips on the side to let it bounce around as needed) with IPX6 rating, it comes with a 'heavy duty' cable as well, and it even... has a stand.

At first, I kinda thought the stand was silly, but it's actually super handy tbh after using it.

Let's get into it tho'.  First up, going around the device, you can see that it's got nice rubberized siding for good grip, and to protect it if it were to fall.

On the 'bottom' is the battery indicator with 4 dots for how much it has for capacity left, then it has rubberized port flaps on either side, one for USB-A if you do want to hardwire something to the bank, and a USB-C port for either in (charge it up) or out (charge something else).

That's super handy to have the options.

On the 'back' of it there a little flip out leg for a stand.  And then this is where it's pretty cool.  I didn't think I'd use it as much, but being able to put it on the stand, the wireless works in whatever rotated what it is, so you can orient the phone in a landscape mode.  Watch a movie, use it as a tripod (tho', the angle makes it a little difficult as it's slightly facing down, but selfie will get you facing upward...).  You can adjust the leg to a varying degree.

But definitely useful just to sit on my desk.

Is it worth the $140(Canadian) fee for it... oof, that's a toughie.  I do find it super handy.  It is bulky, but not too bulky.. the bulky that you can feel assured it's safe.

The 10kAh battery means I'll not have to worry too much about charging IT up, and then the stand makes it's easy to put somewhere and have the phone still 'usable'.

So for convenience, I'm saying it's worth it.  Sure, you can buy other wireless battery packs, but do they have a stand?  What mAh are they?  Are they durable?  Besides, this is a perfect match for the UAG Plyo (be some perfect stocking stuffers)

The only thing I wish it might have is a manual 'off button'.  Sure it should stop when the battery is full, but if it's 93% and I just want to put the phone on the desk standing up, I don't need it to charge.

It's definitely in my 'always carry with me' bag now.  Plus, you get a great spare cable!
