Chrome has new AI features (only on Windows, Mac or Chromebook Plus)

I've been a bit of a Gemini fan, and I love what it can do, and Google is seemingly adding it EVERYWHERE.  The latest is to put the feature into Chrome, and it's finally out to users in Canada.

I was excited, because it's going to add

News from Google’s Chrome team: starting today, we're launching new Gemini features built right into the Chrome browsers. These features are designed to help people get things done faster, like:

  • Summarize long articles or videos to get the main points quickly.

  • Get answers to questions about page content without leaving the tab.

  • Consolidate information from multiple tabs, like creating a table to compare products or planning a team offsite.

  • Instantly transform images on a webpage with a simple text prompt.

  • We're also adding support for over 50 new languages, including Canadian French.

And I was excited, but when you read into it on the blog the caveat on it is that it only works on Chrome for Mac, Windows or Chromebook Plus.

So, no good for mobile devices or regular Chromebooks (like my Pixelbook or my Chromebase).  D'oh.

Here's hoping it comes to other Chrome browsers too at some point
