Gemini launching 'Personal Intelligence' in app

I tell you, I'm loving Gemini.  I like how it remembers my job, my likes, how it ties those things together in new chats, so I don't have to work on the prompts.

And today, Gemini is launching a "Personal Intelligence" capability in the Gemini App that links info from Google's various services; Youtube, Photos, etc...

Now, cool and all, and I definitely look forward to it, but for now it's only in the US.

Today we announced Personal Intelligence, a new capability [in beta] in Gemini that allows it to tailor its responses by connecting across your Google ecosystem—starting with Gmail, Photos, Search, and YouTube History. Whether it’s connecting a thread in your emails to a video you watched or finding nuance in your photo library, Gemini now understands context without being told where to look. 


Please note this is launching in the US-only but thought you may be interested in learning more. Details below:
 
  •  Availability
    • Rolling out over the course of the day - 14th January to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S.
    • Once enabled, it works across Web, Android and iOS and with all of the models in the Gemini model picker.
    • We’ll soon expand to more countries and the free tier.
    • It's also coming to Search in AI Mode soon.
    • For now, this beta feature is available for personal Google accounts and not for Workspace business, enterprise or education users.
  • Privacy and control
    • This experience is off by default giving you control - you decide if and when to connect apps to Gemini.
    • Even when your apps are connected, we won’t personalise every response. Our goal is for Gemini to use Personal Intelligence only when it determines that doing so will be helpful.
    • You can also connect some apps without connecting others, giving you the freedom to personalise only what you want.
    • To keep making your conversations helpful, Gemini will continue personalising your experience by referencing your past chats by default. You can stop this by turning off the setting called your “Past Gemini chats.” You can also manage and delete your past chats anytime.
