I'm getting a memory blast from like the days of the Galaxy Nexus, where we'd make the lock screen be almost our main screen for the phone, just glance at it to see what you might need to see.
From the latest update, one of the features added was to bring in lock screen widgets.
Now in the Pixel Tablet we had that already in a 'hub mode', which is now available on our phones.
Go into Settings and go into the options for Lock Screen (or from the lock screen, just long press to 'customize'.
From there you can play around with the pre-set ones they think you want (Gemini being top of the list) and pick widgets like you would for any other display.
