For $40CDN OnePlus just made a cable that is super easy to travel with . We just finished up a family trip and I spend a lot of time getting ready packing the right amount of charging accessories. What really complicates everything is a watch. They need a separate charger (I just wish they could use Qi).
Recently, I just swapped over to the OnePlus 13 with the Watch 2, to live that ecosystem. They do have a nice charging block for it, already easy for charging, but this new cable from OnePlus makes charging that much more portable.
Let's take a look as OnePlus kindly sent one over:
For $40 it's a good deal on a cable in its own right, it is 1.2m (6ft) and it can stand up to SuperVOOC for speeds [still don't understand why SuperVOOC needs a USB-A port]. That's usually a good deal, and then you add in the fact that mid cable there's a spot to rest your watch to charge, while the USB-C port could charge your phone.
One of those "yeah, why hadn't we done this before?" type of cables.
I only have 2 critiques of it.
- The watch adapter is in the middle of the cable, so if it's too long on both 'ends' you have to coil em up... or what if you plug it somewher eyou need the 6ft, well the watch adapter piece is 3ft away. I would have preferred the adapter being close to the USB-C port
- The magnets to align the watch, but it only aligns one way; and there's no 'indication' of which way is the right way, so every time it's been a bit of 'which way does this go on', and never on the first try.
