So, I love getting my monthly updates straight from Google, and there were a few things nodded to when they announced it, but then also a couple they didn't directly say:
First up, for the Pixel Tablet, you now have lock screen widgets, and you have access to the Pixel VPN.
The lock screen is pretty cool, weird way I can only get to it is when it's displaying on the sleep screen. I have the photo memories cycling, but if you touch the photos screen it brings you to the lock screen widgets. Long press in there and you can then customize like you would any Android home screen. Except, no matter the size they say it is, it's going to plunk into one of the 6 spots it has
The VPN is truly something I'd been waiting for.
I do love having a VPN while on public wifi and was one of the reasons I've been wary of making any other brand my daily driver... or using my Pixel Tablet widely outside my house.
Lastly, Google announced after the update that the Pixel 6 & 7 were going to be included in updates right up until about 2027
