Kensington's Laptop Riser elevates your workspace

Okay, almost back to school time, time to buckle down and get that workspace looking more professional, ready to do some real work... at least that's what I try to tell my teenager.

One way to help declutter a workspace and help with some ergonomics is to put your laptop on a riser.  Get it above the rest of the 'desk stuff' and helps make your desk look cleaner, but helps to elevate the display of the screen which will make it easier on your neck.

So, Kensington has this riser here for $69.99CDN, and I handed it to my son to make his desk a little neater.

A little... I dare not show much more.

I did have to put it together for him at first.

The box has it in a few pieces, and within a few minutes it's all put together.

The 'rest' part of it has some grippy rubber stickers to hold the laptop still (there are the lips to prevent it from sliding off, but the grip prevents it from moving up and down or side to side too easily).

The rest itself has an adjustment to set the angle you like.

Even cooler is that the riser itself has a bit of a piston, like a chair spring, so it wants to go up, but  you can adjust the height to where you want.

It's all very sturdy feeling (even with my construction skills) and everything is heavy enough that nothings' going to tip or move around.

And now that the laptop is up off the desk, you have more space to organize... hopefully... for my kid's sake!

Here's his review:

It's a good stand, works well for me.  It's nice when upping it, or lowering it and it's also nice how you can change the angles on it.

Check it out if you want to move your laptop around on your desk (obviously, you'll want a separate keyboard for this).
