I absolutely love my OnePlus Pad, i's my favourite tablet, and the fact that a new model coming out was going to have a Snapdragon processor instead of the MediaTek was music to my ears.

Let's get it out of that box

So without the extra accessories at first it was tough to get a full sense, but I played with it initially and already I'm impressed.

First off, the feel of that Snapdragon chip, definitely makes it feel faster compared to the Pad 1.

The screen is slightly bigger, making it a little more 'bulky' to carry around, but not enough to put it away.  The display also looks a little better, but not a quantifiable amount that I would go ga-ga over.

The feature of the "Open Canvas" feature, somehow I'd overlooked that on the Pad 1 (it got it as an update at some point) really helps make this a multi-tasker.

It's a little sad it didn't come with its own charging brick - but that's just from my review device - in North America you'll get one.

I am also still a little sad we can't get that screen mirroring of your phone on the device for anything by the OnePlus lineup - I'd love to pair this up with my Pixel phones.

But the most amazing thing... really, my favourite, is that it has HDMI out.  You need a USB-C dongle for HDMI, and the display is essentially a duplicate of the tablet (meaning that it doesn't fill the monitor I plugged it into - those dang side bars), but it's a start as the one time I couldn't use my Pad1 was for board meetings when I'd want to plug into the projector.  Now I can!  All those accessories I have connected to the dongle work as well:  keyboard, mouse, storage, etc...

I'm closer and closer to my "one device - many displays" dream.

I'll be playing around a little longer and once I get the accessories in I'll give you a full review!
