Pixel 8a is out in the open and ready for pre-order

Okay, so all the rumours a done with and the Pixel 8a is out from under wraps, ready for you to place your pre-order.

Google kindly sent us over one to look over and we'll have some words to say in due time about it

In the mean time, to help you with your decision to make a pre-order (and it will be on-the-shelf for May 14th) for $679CAD (128GB) and $759CAD (256GB), here's some of the pertinent info:

Now, when comparing to the closest, the Pixel 8, you will sacrifice the following to save $270

  • just slightly smaller (6.1" vs. 6.2")
  • no reverse wireless charging
  • incredibly small difference in battery (4575mAh vs. 4492mAh)
  • probably imperceptible camera difference (see below for the chart)

And it comes with practically all the same Google-y Ai goodness, Magic Editor, Magic Eraser (audio for videos), on top of Pixel awesome features like Circle to Search, Pixel VPN, Call Screen, Top Shot, etc... 

You can pick it up in 4 choices of colour:  Aloe (green), Bay (blue), Porcelain (off-white), Obsidian (black).
