Waze asks if you are a Cat or a Dog person with their new theme

The chatter was that with it being a one vaccine summer it was going to be the summer of roadtrips.  As you get around from place to place - do you use Waze, or do you use Google Maps to navigate?

If you use Waze (which is actually owned by Google), then their new theme is going to spark a bit of a debate in your vehicle.  Are you a cat or a dog person?

I'm all team dog... I'm allergic to both, but whereas I'm allergic to ALL cats, I'm only allergic to some dogs.  Plus, they're awesome.

The new feature lets you change the voice of navigation to a dog or a cat, and then lets you change your vehicle to a woofmobile or a catmobile.

Paws at the intersection: Waze puts our four-legged friends on the map

Users choose between cats or dogs with new voices, car icons and more!

New York, NY - July 1, 2021 - It’s an icebreaker at work and a dealbreaker on a date, but now Waze, the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app, is asking its users the age-old question: Are you a cat or a dog person?

From today for a limited time, drivers can choose between two navigation voices designed to personify our beloved household pets. Users who want to hang out with a dog that’s feeling upbeat, excited, but with a tendency to get distracted or a cat that’s feeling skeptical, irreverent and a little neurotic can now do so by activating this theme!

Drivers hitting the roads for their summer staycations can also change their Waze car icon and hop in the Meow Mobile or Woof Wagon to guide them on their way, and express their pet preference by choosing a Cat or Dog mood to show others on the road how they’re outsmarting traffic.

“We’re so excited to bring Waze’s very own Cat & Dog theme to our users around the world,” said Erin Bellsey, Head of Brand Programs, Waze. “People often define themselves as a cat or dog person, so we wanted to put this to the test and see which moods and personality traits our drivers choose to embody. Our creative team had a blast concepting this, and we can’t wait to see which furry friend our users identify with most!”

The Cat & Dog theme will be available in English, French and Spanish for a limited time.
