Google's new 5G Pixel phones - 4a 5G and 5

A new phone and a revisited version of a recent.

Google announced a 5G variant of the neat little 4a as the Pixel 4a 5G.  Now, they didn't just put a 5G chip in it, it gained a little size, give it a beefier battery and include a new wide angle display.

Then there's the new iteration of Pixel, the Pixel 5.

I do have to say I'm torn.  This 4 XL has been my favourite phone.  I'll say the 3 XL was better - but this is definitely a powerhouse.  My biggest miss has been the fingerprint sensor, so seeing it again on the new 5, I was pleased to see the fingerprint sensor back ... but ... the new iteration of the phone doesn't come with much other upgrades.  There's no XL, which will really bother me.  With no XL this means it's not going to be QuadHD.  Sigh.

It will have more RAM, but a stepped down processor (from the Snapdragon 855 to the 765); and it will also have the neat reverse Qi charging.  Plus, like the 4a 5G, it will have the wide angle.  I've so much bemoaned not having a wide angle.  Having the 2x zoom from the 4XL has never been a 'oh thank god I had it' feature.  You can always crop, you sometimes just can't get back far enough.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how with the new HDR+ is handled when they mentioned bracketed shooting (was that not how they were being done 

Again, can't wait to see these in hand.
