Just got this notice from Google that an update would be available, and I didn't get it on my watch until I did the 'quick tapping' trick (Go to settings / system / updates and then just tap the screen that says you're up to date a bunch times and it said "hey you want to download this").
Here's what Google says is going to come once this update is done:
Starting today, Google is rolling out new AI-powered features for Pixel Watch 4: expanded One-Handed Gestures and enhanced Smart Replies.
Just in time for the holidays, these new tools offer helpful, hands-free assistance when you are shopping, gift wrapping, traveling and more:
One-Handed Gestures on Pixel Watch 4 allow for effortless, simple interactions – especially when your hands are full.
Use Double pinch to answer and end calls, pause timers and more. If your hands are full wrapping gifts, a double pinch of your fingers can answer an incoming call. Unique to Pixel Watch, we also provide helpful context hints right on screen for when to use the Double pinch.
The quick Wrist turn gesture can dismiss incoming calls and more. Perfect for when you are in the checkout line finishing up last-minute holiday shopping, discreetly silencing an incoming call!
Smarter Smart Replies on Pixel Watches 3 & 4 use an all-new, on-Watch model that is twice as fast and uses half the battery to ensure you stay connected. The quality and preference rate are also enhanced: in a blind study, 97% of users found the quality equal to or better than before. This makes holiday coordination easy, like quickly confirming the timing of one of your many holiday gatherings.
We’ve also seen Raise to Talk becoming users’ new favorite way to invoke Gemini on their Pixel Watch 4. To ensure we meet users where they are and make this valuable feature accessible to everyone, we are rolling out a step-by-step tutorial as a refresher for Raise to Talk.
These are the latest part of our commitment to making your Pixel experience even better over time.
