NotebookLM now has an app

Okay, I know AI is almost a cliche at this point, but honestly, I use it a lot.  Not like for everything, but as a quick 'how to', or similar.

One of my favourite tools for AI is the NotebookLM; if you've not looked into it yet, you should.  For me the idea is you feed it some specific points of data / resources.  And then ask it questions based on those resources.

I've used it for our refs at football.  Feed it a bunch of the different rulebooks and ask it questions like "how would you handle X situation" and it can go through and determine where a possible answer is.  I've used it with boards where I've fed it various constitutions / bylaws and other resources (and it'll recommend potential other sources it thinks may be relevant) and you can have it look through to ask questions like "in comparing to the ONCA regulations, does our bylaw on X align appropriately?"

Very neat stuff.

Most recently, our pipe band competed and instead of a comment card the MWPBA uses audio commentary.  It's nice to listen to their comments as we hear our playing.  Now, I can feed those 4 audio files into NotebookLM, the overall results, etc... and ask it questions about "how did they like the tuning?", "was the tempo consistent?".  Even cooler is that you can then have it make a 20 minute podcast (and there's a potential for video presentations!!).

Now, up until recently you had to use the website:  https://notebooklm.google.com/

That's okay, but when I wanted to pull something up on the web, the interface wasn't great.

But, just saw the other day that they have an app!

Check out my little screen recording using it!

You can use the app to add sources, to ask it questions and listen to the audio overview.

Love it
