Google's giving Workspace accounts Gemini

So, I have a few accounts on my phone.  My personal, this account, football, pipe band... all of them are Google accounts, with the last few being "Workspace" accounts (read: we pay for it to be our @domain accounts).  I'm a Google guy.

When I got my Pixel 9 Pro and they included Google Advanced, I've been enjoying that when I open my personal Gmail, I have the power of Gemini sitting there in the wings, ready to assist me with writing, or scan through my Drive folders for the answer I need from a file.  But that was only in my personal.  On any of my Workspace accounts, if I wanted Gemini to help out, it'd be an extra cost.  Something the other board members may not yet agree to, so I haven't pushed it.

But today, opening my accounts, I'm greeted by "Welcome to Gemini" with the panel on the right.

(oddly enough, it's not on the one for the band, which we technically get for free because we're a charity, but I had seen it earlier, just not there now)

It's great because if I come across a name on social, I can just plunk in "who's that" in Gemini for Gmail.

Kinda neat, just help sort through the mess for me.  It didn't see that this player also rostered prior to that with our 1st Down program as well, but still, it quickly found something before I could search for a name, come up with a list of conversations and find context.

Now, it isn't in Drive ... or I'm not seeing it yet, because according to their post, it should be part of it.

So, if you want Gemini in your Google space, for Gmail accounts you'll have to pay for Gemini Advanced.  If you have a Workspace, it's going to be built in.
