new Moto e6 available for $150USD

e for economical.

Waiting to hear about the Canadian listing price, but even with the exchange, that makes it still sub $200CDN.

What do you get for such a low ticket price:

  • 5.5" @ 1440x720
  • Snapdragon 435 1.4GHz x8
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB storage + microSD
  • 13MP (f/2.0, 1.12um) / 5MP (f/2.0, 1.12um)
  • 3000mAh

Not a lot from a 'heavy user' point of view, but for folks like my parents or others I know who are first time adopters, their biggest complaint is battery life ("you mean I have to charge this every day?").  Having 3000mAh of juice with a smaller display of less resolution and a power sipping SD435... that should last them no problem.
From the Motorola Blog
High quality, up-to-date features that you can count on – that’s what makes moto e smartphones stand out. Many value-tier smartphones include common features, but quality differs, and consumers can be stuck with low quality phones that don’t meet their standards or needs. From Motorola, you can always expect essential features that don’t break your budget – like a maximum display, long lasting battery, and sharp camera.
The new moto e6 was designed with improved essentials in mind. With a 5.5” Max Vision display, more than a day of battery life1 , and a 13MP camera with premium features like portrait mode – the new moto e6 has everything you need for all day fun.
Stretch your imagination
The Max Vision HD+ display gives you maximum viewing thanks to an 18:9 aspect ratio, so you scroll less—and enjoy more. With its 5.5″ size, you’ll love the fact that you can see so much and still hold the phone comfortably in one hand. Easily listen to music on your headphones using the dedicated headphone jack. A light weight, unibody, water-repellent design keeps your phone protected inside and out.2
Play all day
The moto e6 provides more than a day of power with a 3000 mAh removable battery. Watch five full-length movies back to back, play games nonstop for more than eight hours, and listen to songs offline for 109 hours straight. Now that’s powerful1.
50% faster3 than last year’s moto e5 the lag-free, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon performance runs smoothly, even in your multitasking moments. When you need more room for apps, add up to 256 GB of storage4 to move photos, songs, and movies to a dedicated external microSD card slot.
Focus on better photos
A great improvement from last year’s moto e5 is our fast-focusing, sharp 13MP rear camera, so you won’t miss moments that move quickly. Thanks to a big 1.12um pixels along with a large f/2.0 aperture, your camera has improved performance in low light scenarios. When you have a smaller aperture and bigger pixel, the better your camera performs in scenes like fireworks, camp fires, starry nights, or outdoor night time concerts to name a few.
For the first time ever in a moto e, add premium touches to your photos with Spot Color and Portrait Mode. Choose a single color to keep and turn the rest of the photo black & white for a distinctive look, using Spot Color mode. In Portrait Mode, use the front or rear camera to enhance a subject in by adding a beautiful blur effect in the background. You can even use portrait mode with your 5MP selfie camera.
Clean AndroidTM Experience
moto e6 has the clean AndroidTM Pie software you expect from Motorola, avoiding bloatware and unwanted apps. Plus, it has more exclusive Moto Experiences than ever before on a moto e. The moto e6 now includes Fast Flashlight, turning the flashlight on with a simple chop-chop motion, and Screenshot Editor, letting you share, write, and draw on your screenshots immediately. New experiences also include Media Controls and One Button Nav, previously only on higher tier devices. You can read about every Moto Experience on our Motorola software page.
