TomTom's Golfer 2 will help you analyze your golf game

I've a few friends out there that are 'golfing obsessed'.  Well, one has to, he's like the grounds manager at one of the clubs in town.  The rest just love the game.

And there's nothing better than an enthusiast loves to do with their passion is to analyze their sport so they can play it better.  One way is with a wearable, and TomTom just let out the Golfer 2 ($329 - apparently on sale right now for $199) and the Golfer 2 SE ($249CDN).

Similar to the TomTom Spark 3 (it even looks like it) it is a wearable that has built in things like pedometers and GPS to track your activity, but with a golfing spin

Some of the cool features like automatic shot detection.  That must be pretty neat on how to figure it out... like notice where your GPS is still for a while then has a quick motion (the swing) and then measure to where you do the next 'swing'.

It apparently has a database of golf courses (it'd be interesting if Thunder Bay is on that map) to know distances so it'll know hazards and distances, which you can get a bit of a view on a mini map.

I'm not sure how it'll really figure out post game analysis... there must be some manual entry for when you sink the ball and go to the next hole.

Anyways, for $199 it makes a good Father's Day gift for that golfing dad out there.
