HTC Launches Desire 530 in Canada

Back at Mobile World Congress we saw the Desire 530 announced and it's taken since then for HTC to bring it into Canada.

As a lower end device, it's not packing a lot of punch, but at $199 for an unlocked variant from their website your wallet isn't going to be TKO'd either.

So what do you get for that $200?

  • 5.0" @ 1280x720
  • Snapdragon 210 1.1GHz x4
  • 1.5GB RAM
  • 16GB storage + microSD
  • 8MP/5MP
  • 2200mAh
  • Android 6.0

Yeah, it's not going to win any performance wars with that low power, but for the price, and the neat customizable look (reminds me of the iPhone 5C style) and it has that lanyard strap... (does anybody actually ever use that?) it might just be all your older relative might need to use their phone.

So, currently you can purchase the "Sparkle White" version for $199 unlocked on the HTC site, and then the other variants will be available at Wind and Videotron shortly.
