Google I/O 2015 - New Google Photos app

It had been rumored for quite a period of time, but finally today it was unveiled, the new Google Photo app. The big difference with Google Photo is that's now a standalone application and it isn't tied into Google+ any longer.

The best has yet to come! Instead of counting toward your storage limited, Google is now offering unlimited storage for your photos and videos via their cloud storage platform.

There must be some sort of fine print somewhere? There kind of is, any photos larger then 16MP will be compressed. You'll be able to store your 1080p videos, but you're 4k's will be converted to a standard 1080p. You will have the option to pay 10$ a month to get the premium service which will allow you to host your pictures and videos at their original format size.
