Google I/O 2015 is currently happening and one of the interesting announcement was Android M. We've all been hearing the rumors for a little while now it's official.
It would appear that the rumors are true, the lower-power/doze mode that's been floating around is a real thing.
Google has been hard at work making the effort to get the most out of the batteries that our devices have. Apps on M will be able to turn off the background activities when they aren't being used, yet still keep them active. Android M is said to offer up to twice the standby battery life. We will see the introduction of USB Type-c support for both charging and it can also act as a charger for other devices.
