Drive recently updated to include a new 1x1 widget which will bring you directly to the 'upload a photo' section of the app where you take a picture, presumably of some document, where it'll convert what it 'sees' to be a new file.
Have you used this feature before?
I've used the Google Goggles app to scan in business cards before, but never my phone's camera for a document.
Neat how the app will account for perspective skew.
