Yesterday I showed you how we're doing in Canada for the Android adoption rate. But globally... of those people using Android, what version are they using?
Well, the Android Developers page has a site that has just such numbers and they released the most up to date info yesterday.
Let's take a look at what they have listed:
Pretty cool seeing the Jelly Bean climbing as much as it is. I was expecting Gingerbread to drop more than it was, but what we're seeing here is 4.0.x devices making the jump to 4.1. Devices that have 2.3.x aren't updating... if they haven't received it by now, they're not going to get it at all. Just gotta wait for them to 'die off'.
The 3 year plans that some of those devices were on should be close to expiration by now. Let's hope at least. I've had more people ask me 'what should I upgrade to now?' in the past while than I have ever. Which is an interesting question to say the least. Could be its own article.
