Nexus 4 JB 4.2.2 update 'fixes' LTE

Yup, finally got my 4.2.2 update just now.

Great.  Yesterday it was out for the other Nexi devices, so it was odd that the N4 got left out.

But it looks like we have a reason.
Essentially it's now blocked the system to allow you to pick LTE.

Which was a huge selling point for the phone, especially as Canadians we used that LTE band (that the US didn't get).  It was nice to rub that in the snark US faces... "hey, look we get LTE and you don't.  Nanana boo-boo, stick your head in doo-doo."

But, this new update, let's you see the option, just not select it.

Probably won't be too long before somebody fixes it.

  1. Haven't gotten around to trying it yet, but I wonder if flashing the radio from 4.2.1 would get around this...

  2. Thanks Tom! I guess that explains why they pulled the 4.2.1 image down...good thing I saved it.
Now I just have to remember the lines I had added to my build prop for LTE...

    1. Yes. You can download the radio image by itself.
I knew they were going to take the 4.2.1 so I uploaded a copy to my Dropbox to share with those who need it ^_~

    2. Tom, did you have to wipe anything when you flashed it?

    3. Nope, I simply flashing it through fastboot and that was it. All data left intact without wiping a thing.

    1. They can all be found very easily on XDA.

Flashing the 4.2.1 radio fixes all

  4. Take pity on me. I am a converting jailbroken and modded iPhone user and am completely new to rooting etc. Also brand new to this page/forum and don't know what a google plus page is?
