The other day I wrote a bit of a 'things you should do with an Android device' article.
One of those things was to install a new keyboard - try one out. I recommended SwiftKey Flow.
Today they just sent an update.
My favourite keyboard thus far, hands down.
Today's update brings some new features (click here to read all the changelog, including some things to be aware of)

- Flow-through-space autocommit: if you flow-through space but mess up your last word, all the prior words will be inserted (instead of losing all the words)
- Flow in landscape on tablets (only in full layout, not in split layout)
- Battery usage improved (when flowing and when not in use)
- Performance of flowing and tapping improved
- Longpress of bottom-right (smiley/enter) button now works
- Fixed some force close issues
- Fixed some memory leaks
- Predictions not lost when changing keyboard layout (e.g to symbols)
- Fixed DOuble CApitalization issue
So far it's working just fine for me. Love it!
I downloaded the beta a number of days ago, so far so good. Strange though, I saw an improvement in word accuracy when I switched the typing style to 'Rapid' from 'Precise'. It was regularly choosing the wrong word, I found myself regularly backspacing.
ReplyDeleteI find myself missing the 'swipe down to hide' the keyboard. I do understand why that feature of SwiftKey 3 would be missing though.
Thanks for the beta heads up!
the new beta is quite good, definitely snappier for me and less errors. I never knew about 'swipe to hide'...
DeleteI just love that it does an awesome job of both great predictions and 'swiping' when I want to.
