Okay, time to change up my daily... and I mean daily use... my Pixel Buds Pro are being cased and left on the desk for a bit as the new Pixel Buds Pro 2 are now in house.
I didn't think the PBP needed an update, but one is here. The first (truly wireless) Pixel Buds had a little 'ear hook' and then the Pro model removed it. Not that the lack of one was ever noticeable for that reassurance it might fall out, the inclusion in the PBP2 to have a little 'ear tab' on it was intriguing to me.
Well, here they are.
Now for $300CDN earbuds... oof, that's a big pill to swallow (almost feels like swallowing that case). But I literally use the PBPs every day and they are amazing. What will make these as amazing?
Well, just initial impressions so far is they are ... different. I mean the sound quality is so far marginally better, noticeable, but barely. They are smaller in the 'protruding' bit and can feel loose; but so far no issues.
The biggest change I've noticed thus far is that:
a) there's a chime in the case, meaning it can let you know when it is charging (I've got a finnicky qi charger at work and needs some cajoling in the case to find the sweet spot) - this will be helpful as you can use that to help find the case aside from the headphones if you need to;
b) it is showing up in my Google Home app... gonna have to investigate why that is.
Other things like the changes of having AI incorporated into this set I'll be playing around with to see how different an experience it can be from the previous. I'll let you know in a few more days worth of testing.
Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask away.
And, yes - I am over the moon with the fact it can fit the same case from before
