Roku has an all new line up coming this October

Okay, so it's not an Android box, but to be honest, I find myself constantly using my Roku, and the fact that I can control it with my Android phone makes it so much easier to use than Kodi on an Android box.  So, I love my Roku.  I don't know how they can really improve upon my Roku 3, but they found a way, and have announced a full line up for this fall.

So, it looks like there's the Roku stick, and then a variety of the boxes to suit your specific needs.  The addition is a new "Express" model which is a bit of a blend between the Stick and the boxes

The biggest upgrade this year is the inclusion of 4K (and HDR on the upper lines) and then the Ultra setup includes its own audio output.  Seems like a small thing, but I've just been setting up a new sound bar and unfortunately I don't have anything with HDMI switching to allow its sound to go through it, and my TV doesn't have any audio out, so the Roku 3 gets omitted from some cool sound from my system.  This model also has a 'lost remote' option, which is awesome because there's been a few days where I just used my phone only because my son couldn't remember where he left the remove.

The devices start from a basic $40 and run up to $140 for the top end... and in my opinion worth it for every option.  I find it way easier than struggling with Kodi and I love having the remote on my phone to mess with whoever is playing on the device! :)

Oh, and did you hear that there's now Canadian streaming channels on Roku via VMedia for $18/month?
