Photo Shootout - Z5 Premium / Galaxy S7 / G4 / iPhone 6S

More and more we use our phones to capture all of our daily photos we take.  It's rare now that I see a dedicated digital camera in someone's hands who's not a professional photographer.  With that, getting the best camera (or at least good enough) out of our phone is important.

And there's been a lot of options to pour over lately.  HTC's Ultra pixels, LG's f/1.8, Sony's G lens system... lots of options.  So, how do they stack up against each other?

I just happen to have in my possession several of the flagships: the LG G4, the iPhone 6S, Sony's Xperia Z5 Premium and the Samsung Galaxy S7.  Then I put them to the test and took some photos.  Tell me what ones you think one in each scenario.

So, in very low light with just a monitor for light.  Personally, I liked the G4 the best.  The Galaxy was blurry (a little over exposed?), the iPhone looked probably the most natural, but had lots of grain.

Indoor, normal daylight with bright background.  My personal pick here is the Galaxy S7.  A little vivid for me, but works very well, making the G4 and 6S look a little bland. (The Z5P was definitely a little overworked, but I think I framed it a little bit with a bit more of the background, so that might have affected the metering.)

Very minimal light.  This was almost no light here this time.  Really close between the S7 and the 6S, both are very near the real colours despite the low light, but because of the noise I'm going with the S7.  The Sony had some trouble focusing

Very low light in front of some light source.  I figure this might be a good trick to do.  This is a toss up between the Z5P and the iPhone.  Really tough, as the other 2 are heavily HDR'd looking a little unnatural.  But I'll go with the iPhone actually.

So, overall I picked the S7 twice and then the G4 and the iPhone each once.  But each had their own strengths in a variety of cases.  Wish we could just mix them all together!
