LG's G4 Beat announced, should be coming to Canada soon

In a world where phones are getting bigger and bigger, sometimes it's nice to have something a little smaller.

My G4 is 5.5" ... I wouldn't say it's LARGE, but it's definitely getting there; but it's definitely usable.  However, sometimes I long for the size of the LG G2.

Well, as per the norm lately, there's the flagship, and then there's the flagship's littler cousin.  Not quite as big ... all around, even the specs.

LG just announced their G4 Beat which will mean easier hand holding for those with smaller mitts, but you also will sacrifice on some other features.

So, here's what you'll get with the smaller version:

  • 5.2" @ 1920x1080
  • Snapdragon 615 octacore 1.5GHz
  • 1.5GB RAM
  • 8GB storage
  • 8MP / 5MP
  • 2300mAh
  • Android 5.1.1

You end up sacrificing just about every spec out there, processor, battery, size, resolution, storage, ram... everything.  Just for a smaller device.  Tho' you still do get the new colour spectrum sensor and the laser focus.  We're waiting to hear price.

Now, it's launching in a few select international markets initially and then hitting our Canadian shores some time in the near future.

I wish they could make smaller variants of the same flagship.
