I knew Android was great. I didn't think it'd ever DOMINATE like has been. And when I say dominate, I was thinking of when it had the majority ... around 50+% marketshare.
According to Strategy Analytics (via CNET) it has now reached 81%
Comparing the growth from Q3 '12 to Q3 '13 Android has seen over a 50% increase. Shipping over 204 MILLION devices globally.
Apple gained barely half of that increase with just 25% increase. Microsoft almost tripled whereas Blackberry hugely crumpled, being reduced to a 1/3rd of its size and 'others' is nearly non-existant now.
