iClever 5W Bluetooth speaker [Review]

It's summer and it means we're spending time outdoors or just trying to enjoy as much fun as possible.

What better way to have some fun than with some tunes?  Using your phone's speakers are enough if it's just right next to you, but even still... not quite as good quality.

Over the time, we've reviewed lots of little speakers, and I have to say, I really like this one here from iClever.

It's very reminiscent of the Sony cubes I reviewed a little while ago, but definitely has some more heft to it.

That little bit of heft is owing to the 5W driver that can really push some sound around.  The Sony's were a little weak compared to this one.  Sitting next to it it can get QUITE loud.  But it's meant to be positioned slightly away from you.  Going into a room it starts to lose some of the volume and a good wall in between all but silences it; but while in the same room it can be quite the volume.  And it's a clean sound too.

The battery should last you 8-12 hours of playback.  I've used it for at least 4 hours and haven't noticed anything yet.  The cool thing is that it shows the level of the battery in your notification bar... now I don't see a %, nor do I see any reduction in the icon saying it's gone down.  Maybe the battery's really good!

My only complaint about it is that the controls are on the bottom, and they line up on the side (see the video, it's hard to explain).

For $30 it's a great solid speaker for your chance to rock out to some tunes!
