So, I don't know about your neck of the woods, but Canada doesn't really seem to have much of an 'Android scene'.

+AndroidTO is the only conference I can think of north of the 49th where fellow enthusiasts can come together.

I went last year and it was an awesome opportunity.  Met some great people, heard some awesome developments - and if you're a developer you'll want to have this opportunity to get fired up over some techniques and best practices.
