Chrome OS update makes your Chromebook that much easier to use

But Chromebooks are for kids...

Someone says just before smack them upside the head.

My Chromebook handles just about EVERYTHING I do in as easy, if not easier than any other laptop I've used.

Today they just updated Chrome OS for a few new handy features:

  • All the answers you need, one tap away: Make your Chromebook a one-stop shop for simple calculations, checking on the latest weather updates or finding a word definition. Just tap the Everything Button and type “weather” or your math question into the search bar, and the result will automatically pop up.
  • Troubleshooting at your fingertips: The new Diagnostics app is available on every Chromebook, and can be used to run tests and check the status of your laptop’s battery, CPU and memory.
  • Scan and edit more easily: Just in time for tax season, this new feature lets you scan items directly from your printer to your laptop over Wi-Fi or direct USB connection. Once you’re finished scanning you can use Chromebook’s Files app to edit, crop or resize the new file.
  • Live Captions coming to Chromebooks: To help make online content more accessible, we’re expanding Live Captions to Chrome browsers on most Chrome OS devices in the coming weeks.
