Will Canada follow British PM on a possible ban on encrypted IM?

What ramification do you think this would get here in Canada? Do you think our own government body would go that route as well? What's your take on this?

For myself, I this is pretty big news, since Canada, UK and the US are a lot in line with their policies.

Would a ban on applications like WhatsApp, BBM, SnapChat be something that we will see?

What effect would that have on Android users?
