April 2014 - Kit Kat soars to 8.5% of devices [Platform Distribution]

April Showers brings May Flowers, or so the saying goes.  Now that it's May, we'll get to find out what our April snow storms brings instead.

Along with that the start of May also brought us insight into the platform distribution of the devices out there.  And you'll see that Kit Kat has raced to 8.5% of total devices now (seeing that a lot of Galaxy devices got the update).

That's from the dashboard page.  If you want to, you can look at the historical data I've kept track of since early 2012.  That's over on our Database Page.

That's where you'll see that if you compare when a version is released, Kit Kat has grown pretty much the most (with the exception of 4.3... at this point in time 4.3 had 9.6%... not bad).

I've also made my own 'over time' chart... if you're a chart lover like me, click the jump to see it.

The graph gets a little compressed on the page here, click to the actual database page and you can see it in all its glory!
