Asus's X550 phone available for under $400CDN

Right now, my phone is really starting to cheese me off.  Oh, it's not the brand or the make... it's just some plain ol' bugs that are causing a boot loop.

Which aside from having my eye twitch right now after a few hours of trying to figure out what's wrong, I'm starting to let my eyes wander on to some new alternatives (potentially).

Cass recently got herself a new phone from Expansys, and that's all well and good, but I'm a bit more adventurous some times.  As such, I like to look at some different makes and models.  The new ZTE Axon really has me intrigued... but Asus has also been a really good maker ... I haven't tried the Zenfone 2; but then I came across this device for just under $400CDN, the X550.

GearBest has the 16GB or the 32GB available

Keep in mind, that these are pre-orders (shipping Oct 31).  But still... for the price it seems like a pretty good deal:

5.5" 1920x1080
Snapdragon MSM8939 1.5GHz x8
3GB RAM
16 or 32GB storage + microSD (up to 32GB)
13MP / 8MP
3030mAh
Android 5.1
Dual SIM

Of course, go for the 32GB version, as it's only like $20 more.

Not bad specs considering the price.  Checking the frequencies it seems to be okay on most networks (checked Rogers, Telus and Bell).

I'm not a big fan of the ZenUI they have installed, but I'm sure a new launcher will help take care of that.

What do you think?
