Although iOS still likes to claim that they have the highest adoption for the latest version, Android still is plunking away getting as many devices as possible on the latest as well.
The latest numbers come in as of November 3rd (was there no October numbers posted?) show that now over 30% are on the latest KitKat version; and another 50% are on 4.1+. Jellybean is the tipping point where most of Google Play Services reside, so this can be argued that now 80% are on the latest services available.
Anyhow, here's this month's numbers

What I like to look at is the growth of the platforms over time... just look at that vertical jump that KitKat makes
