Songza + Google Play Music = perfect match

So, I've been utilizing the my free 2 months with All Access on Google Play Music.  And it's been pretty awesome.  I wish I had wifi at work to continue the experience. I loved being able to plunk in a song in Google Play Music and say "I like this... find me more like it" and they'll use the Radio/Explore option for me to start finding other music like it.

I love discovering new music.  In my old age I've been finding myself in a bit of a 'music rut', .. so I like finding ways to change that up.  Cycling my 'keep on device' options in GPM, or really listening to what music is playing int he background of movies and TV shows.  But mainly I'm just letting All Access find stuff for me. Often it's not leading me to a purchase, but it is playing some great music.

Before we had GPM officially in Canada, I had been using Songza.  It was great.  A near infinite list of curated playlists all depending on types of moods, etc...

I've shown this to a few people and they love it.  Turn it on, pick the playlist for "Music for the Workplace" or "Rocking out on a Friday Night" and it automagically seems to know what you like!

Well, Google saw the awesome potential of mixing these 2 services together and has purchased Songza.

So what does this mean?

Well, here's their email on the subject:

Songza
Dear Songza User,
Great news: today Songza is officially joining Google. We can't think of a more inspiring company to be part of in our quest to provide the perfect soundtrack for everything you do. Read more about it on Songza Daily.

You can absolutely keep using Songza as usual (we aren't planning any immediate changes — other than making Songza faster, smarter, and even more fun to use).

To continue providing you with the same service after we join Google, we'll be updating our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

In the meantime, we'll be walking on sunshine.

- Team Songza

Pretty neat.

Now we don't know for 100% sure that they'll be integrating the 2 products, but it doesn't take a genius to see how they might integrate the back end just like they've done with Waze and Google Maps.

Now... will I discontinue All Access and focus on Songza then?
