How to set up Google Cloud Print and Print from your Android Device

Yesterday Google launched its own Cloud Print app. Until now the service was only available through a third party application. The service allows you to print, via the cloud from any Android device. Using Google Cloud Print, you can make your home or work printers available to you from anywhere.

Here's how to set it up and get started.

The initial setup needs to be done in the settings of your Chrome browser. You will have to connect your printer(s) to Google Cloud Print. Google Cloud Print works with all printers; Cloud Ready printers, wifi printers or even hard-wired printers.

To set it up, in Chrome, go to:
Settings --> Scroll to the bottom and click Show advanced settings... --> Add Printers
After adding the printers click on Manage your printers.

You can then Share those printers with other accounts. This is a useful feature in case you have more than one account.

Once you set up the service on your computer, download the app to your mobile device: http://goo.gl/KbtVr
To print, simply share to the Cloud Print app.

The new, useful features are the ability to print emails from Gmail through the mobile browser and to "print" files to Drive.

Now you can print your emails
from Gmail on the mobile browser
