App Coliseum: Doctor Who News VS Dr Who News?

The large Doctor Who community in Canada inspired me to compare these two DW Android News apps. I chose these after some searching and I ended up picking two with similar names and ratings. Can we always take the Play store ratings to heart?

The principle of these apps is to keep Whovians like me informed of "What's up" in the Whoniverse, as well as have media snippets to view and the possibility to connect with other fans.

When I choose a source for more of something I want, I pick the easiest and most accessible means. Apps are designed to do exactly that and that is the principle I use to choose the winner here.

Doctor Who News
Five stars but only 500+ downloads. If you are into RSS feeds and Podcast, this is a great app. It opens up and you have a page and a half of links to pretty great feeds and articles, but you really have to dig around to find what you like. It also force closes while trying to access certain feeds but not the app itself. That's that.

Dr Who News

Just opening this app seems like a magical excursion into the Doctor Who Universe. You have real Who news, video clips, episode, chat with Whovians from around the world right in app, pictures from fans and a long list of podcast.

The diversity of this app is inspirational and it has you wishing other apps were similar in design. A true Whovian can explore all the content for hours while chatting about the show, products, teasers, interviews,                                                    upcoming events and much                                                      more.

You can even see a map of the world with all online/offline users that are nearby. I recommend taking a look at the user photos, imaginations are limitless..some peoples children eh?

It is a clear winner here, unless you prefer just having a list of podcast and RSS feeds. Dr Who News, I'm glad I found you.
