Tom's Black Inverted Nexus 4 and How I do it

I'm extremely picky when it comes to my Android, if it's not perfect, I don't want it. I have a very specific style I like and I'll go completely over the top in some cases to make it happen.

In this article I'll be posting many screenshots of my phone and showing what apps, widgets and themes I've used to make it look the way it does. Without further ado, let's jump in to it.

My device is the LG Nexus 4, running CM10.1
Home Screen:

I use Nova Launcher for my home screens. The Clock is Chronus from CyanogenMod and the Calendar and Bookmark scrollable widgets are Android Pro Widgets.
I also turn off wallpaper scrolling (I feel it's less for my system to do) and select "No Wallpaper" in the wallpaper options.

App Drawer:

The icons are Icon Pack - Platinum

Inverted System UI and System Apps:

The system UI such as settings, status bar, and buttons are from a theme for CM/AOKP called Black Infinitum Inverted.
The theme also inverted the following system apps:

  • Phone & Contacts
  • Gmail
  • Google Talk
  • Music
  • Calendar
  • Settings and other system windows
  • Keyboard
  • SMS/MMS
  • Nova/Apex/Holo Launchers
  • Google Play Store
  • Sound Recorder
Some apps I had to insert inverted themed manually as they're not included within the theme. Included themed apps I've installed manually are:
  • Google+
  • Google Search
  • Google Drive
  • DropBox
You can find these inverted apps either at Rujelus22 or an Aroma installer called JusTunBean.

The Aroma installer didn't work for me, so I unzipped it and manually side loaded the inverted apps from the packed file that I wanted. Google Search is a tricky one to side load, as it's a system app and is pre-loaded into the OS. I got around this by using Titanium backup and uninstalling Google Search, rebooted my phone, and then installed the inverted Google Search.

Other apps such as books, MX Player and root explorer already have inverted background options, so a little know how will help complete the all black look.

That's is folk. Keep it dark n' sexy ya'll,
